Soderling retires from the tournament
Robin Soderling has today given the sad news that he does not compete in today's semifinal against Marcos Baghdatis. An arm injury put an end to the world nr ten.
Unfortunately, If Stockholm Open suffered a heavy setback. Home hope Robin Soderling forfeit in today's semifinal against Marcos Baghdatis because of an injured elbow.
Soderling has enough pain in his right elbow that he will not be able to play. Hopefully the injury is so mild that he can played the particularly important tournaments in Valencia and Paris. Soderling chasing a place in the Masters finals and good results are required in the next two tournaments if he can have a chance to qualify.
Soderlings defection means that Marcos Baghdatis now is ready for the final is Stockholm. There he will play against Olivier Rochus.
